John Almarode, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Education at James Madison University, the Co-Director of the Center for STEM Education Outreach and engagement, and the Director of the Content Teaching Academy.  He has published numerous books on teaching and learning, such as Clarity for Learning and From Snorkelers to Scuba Divers.

Karen Flories, MS Ed, is a full-time Professional Learning Consultant for Corwin and works with teachers and leaders across the nation. She has co-authored several books, including student learner notebooks on Becoming an Assessment-Capable Visible Learner for Grades 3–5 & 6–12.
